  • Kiriko Animated Short | Overwatch 2

    2023 Webby Awards: People’s Voice Winner

    Role: Department Producer for FX

    Kiriko was one of the most challenging projects I encountered at Blizzard Entertainment, which is why it’s first on here! With an incredibly tight budget and schedule, there was multiple iterations of scope on the department level. There was a great deal of cross department collaboration between FX and front end departments such as Layout/Animation/Modeling, as most of the FX here were performative/custom requiring torrii gate placement & potential clean up/shot sculpt.

    FX: extinguisher gas, Torii Gates, gun muzzle flashes, tears, teleportation FX, magical healing fx, sparks etc.

    This piece required close collaboration with the game team on aligning already established Dractyr magical spell FX in World of Warcraft & leveling it up in this cinematic.

  • The War Within Announce Cinematic | World of Warcraft

    Announced live at Blizz Con 2023 by Chris Metzen

    Role: Department Producer for FX

    The War Within is the first installment of World of Warcraft’s World Soul Trilogy - It is World of Warcraft’s 11th expansion. This project was a labor of love as the animators used live reference re-enacting the full cinematic as reference for the character performance. The FX team went down to the local river and played around in the sand for their reference.

    2024 VES (Visual Effects Society) Award Nominee

    Role: Development Department Producer for FX

    This project required heavy collaboration across the animation pipeline during the FX R&D stage to delivery to downstream.

    My team and I employed multiple cost effective strategies in order to save time and budget. As early as the previsualization phase, we were having river blocking discussions to to reduce the sim cost per shot for the river water.

    For the Mephisto’s Aveoli activation phase, this was all one sim carried across shots in order to be cost effective.

    Inarius Wing FX were so intricate that we had to establish a two point approval system for its core shape and tendrils. Close work with the animation team on performance.

    Organized multiple striketeams across various departments such as animation, surfacing, modeling and fx in order to align on dismemberment FX within the 3D pipeline.

  • Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous | DreamWorks Animation

    I worked on Season 1-2 on the production team for Jurassic World’s Camp Cretaceous. I was one of three production assists paired with a director/coordinator covering all animation production tasks for each episode our team was assigned. Most of this work was coordinating with an outsource vendor, breaking down scripts & creating model packs so production assets could be built overseas.

    This was a 2.5D piece I helped the motion story team produce for Blizzard Entertainment. This involves working alongside overseas studio for 2D art development & coordinating these final deliveries to our team who would take the 2D art and turn it into a 3D cinematic using photoshop & maya.

    Directed by Award Winning Charlie Kauffman

    I handled all outsource work tracking for this project for roto, paint & tracking. Our VFX studio did all the snow fx in house, lots of snow interaction with the windshield, blizzard etc. This was a crucial element in the film as the snow was it’s own character in the story as the story progressed.
